Do I Have to Believe to Attend Church?
This is one of the most common questions people quietly ask before visiting a church.
Do I need to believe what Christians believe?
Do I need to have faith figured out?
Do I need to agree with everything before I walk through the doors?
The short answer is no.
At Centre Point Church in Langley, belief is not a prerequisite for attendance. Curiosity is enough.
Many people come with questions, not answers
A lot of people who attend church today did not grow up in church. Others grew up in it and stepped away. Some were hurt. Some drifted. Some just stopped believing what they were taught.
If that sounds familiar, you are not alone.
Many people who walk into Centre Point are exploring questions about faith, meaning, purpose, or community. Some are not even sure what they believe anymore. Some are not sure they believe anything at all.
That is okay.
Church is not a test you have to pass
There is a common fear that church is a place where you have to think a certain way or already agree with everything being taught.
Centre Point is not that kind of place.
You will not be asked to sign a statement of belief to attend.
You will not be pressured to agree.
You will not be expected to have answers.
Church is a place to explore, not a place to perform.
What belief looks like on a Sunday
On a typical Sunday, you will hear a message rooted in the teachings of the Bible. You may agree with it. You may wrestle with it. You may simply listen and reflect.
There is no expectation that everyone in the room believes the same thing or is in the same place spiritually.
Some people attend because they believe deeply.
Some attend because they are searching.
Some attend because they are curious.
Some attend because something inside them is stirring and they cannot quite explain why.
All of that is welcome.

Questions are not a problem
If you have questions about faith, God, the Bible, or church, you are not a problem to fix. You are a person to walk with.
Questions are often the beginning of something meaningful.
At Centre Point, we believe honest questions matter more than rehearsed answers. Doubt does not disqualify you. It often leads to deeper understanding.
You can belong while you explore
You do not need to have belief figured out to sit in the room, listen to the music, hear the message, or connect with others.
You are welcome to take your time.
You are welcome to observe.
You are welcome to belong as you explore.
Faith is a journey. Everyone starts somewhere.
What we do believe
While belief is not required to attend, we do want to be honest about who we are.
Centre Point Church follows Jesus and believes His life and teachings offer hope, grace, and a better way to live. We believe church should be a place of compassion, humility, and love as well as a place of truth.
We believe no one has it all together.
We believe growth takes time.
We believe people matter.

If you are curious, you are welcome
If you have ever wondered whether church could be a place for you, even if you are unsure what you believe, we want you to know there is space for you here.
You do not need certainty to attend.
You do not need perfect faith.
You do not need to pretend.
Curiosity is enough.
